Food scarcity is a topic that is often spoken about last when talking about education. Education is important, but when a child doesn’t know their his or her next meal is coming from it is challenging to learn.
During the pandemic while schools were shut down, The Relive Project partnered with charter schools, non-profit organizations, and local politicians in a citywide effort to deliver and transport thousands of pounds of food and other supplies weekly to those in need. Organizing volunteers and raising funds allowed hundreds of families to have access to necessities like food, baby diapers and other much-needed supplies..
Our hope is that as we continue to make an impact in education, we also focus on another fundamental need and right of every family: access to healthy food.
